Gangster Atiq Ahmed Received 9 Bullets, 1 Was To Head: postmortem
According to the postmortem report, criminal Atiq Ahmed was shot at least nine times during his brutal murder on Saturday night outside a hospital in Uttar Pradesh.
During the postmortem investigation, at least nine bullet wounds were discovered in the feared gangster’s body, according to reports. Five bullets were retrieved from the corpse of his brother Ashraf Ahmed, who was also shot dead outside the Prayagraj hospital. The police had brought them to the hospital for a medical examination.
Atiq Ahmed was shot a single time in the head and a total of eight times in his chest and back, according to the autopsy. The headshot was filmed on live television as three gunmen, all of whom have since been apprehended, opened fire on the gangster-turned-politician and his brother, killing both on the spot.
Former MLA and MP Atiq Ahmed faced at least 100 criminal charges. Umesh Pal, a lawyer and a witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was killed outside his home in Prayagraj in February.
Atiq Ahmed, the main suspect in the murder of the BSP MLA, has now been recognised as a suspect in the death of Umesh Pal. Atiq Ahmed had been held in a Gujarat prison since 2019, where he had been moved for his suspected involvement in the abduction of a businessman. Over the last few months, Atiq Ahmed has been transported to Prayagraj for court proceedings and then returned to Gujarat, trailed by reporters.
On Thursday, the gangster’s 19-year-old son Asad, who is also charged in the Umesh Pal murder case, was killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
