Shoaib Akhtar predicts the India vs. Pakistan ODI World Cup final in “2011 ka badla lena hai”
India and Pakistan would play in the ODI World Cup final, according to former Pakistani quick Shoaib Akhtar.
Whether they play in Mumbai or Ahmedabad, “I want an India vs Pakistan final,” Akhtar said to Sports Tak.
Shoaib also wants the Babar Azam-led team to exact revenge for the 2011 World Cup semi final defeat. Shoaib, a member of the Pakistani team, was not on the field when Pakistan lost the game at Mohali by a score of 29 runs.
Akhtar further criticized BCCI and PCB for making needless remarks regarding the hosting of the Asia Cup.
The PCB would be compelled to forgo sending its team to India for the 50-over World Cup in October-November if India does not travel there for the Asia Cup, which will take place in Pakistan in September.
“These are trash talks. The BCCI and PCB are unable to intervene in this situation. Without consulting the Indian government, the BCCI is incapable. Also, our board is incapable of acting without first engaging our government, he said.”
