Anirudh-Prashanth of India storm into the doubles final

Anirudh Chandrasekhar and N Vijay Sundar Prashanth defeated fourth-seeded Arjun Kadhe and Max Neuchrist 7-6 (1), 4-6, 10-2 on Friday at the KSLTA Stadium to advance to the doubles final.

Anirudh and Prashanth won a hard-fought three-set semi-final against with the Indo-Austrian pair and will perform the final on Saturday.

The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association will host the prestigious ATP Challenger tournament at the KSLTA Stadium in Bengaluru (KSLTA).

Serbia’s Hamad Medjedovic defeated No. 1 in the singles quarterfinals. Chun-Hsin Tseng of Taipei is the first seed. Medjedovic defeated his expected opponent 6-1, 6-2 by making effective use of his powerful ground shots and serve.

The reality that Medjedovic was allowed to get five break times in the match demonstrated his power.

Purcell, the Wimbledon doubles champion, defeated Italy’s Luca Nardi 6-2, 6-0.

Earlier, second seeded James Duckworth of Australia, a former world No 46, advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-4 6-1 victory over Dimitar Kuzmanov of Bulgaria.

Another Australian, James McCabe, qualified for the semi-finals as well, defeating Harold Mayot of France 6-3, 7-6. (4).
