J.P. Nadda earns an extension as BJP President till June 2024
JP Nadda’s term as the BJP’s president was extended on Tuesday until June 2024 to oversee party operations for the upcoming general elections.
Amit Shah, a union minister, made the declaration during a speech on the final day of the BJP Executive Meet.
According to Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP was prepared to win the 2024 General Elections with a larger mandate than it did in 2019 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction and Mr. Nadda’s organizational guidance.
Prior to the meeting, there was speculation that Nadda, whose three-year term as the party’s leader (after succeeding Amit Shah) is set to end on January 20 of this year, would be given another term in preparation for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
After his term was extended, Nadda stated a “heartfelt note” to party members in which he claimed that the only place where “a simple worker” like him, who comes from “a small state” like Himachal Pradesh and began his political career as a student activist, could steadily promote up the ranks to become the national president of the largest political party in the world, is the BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union ministers—including Home Minister Amit Shah—chief ministers of BJP-ruled States, and others were present at the executive committee meeting.
