Supreme Court On Haldwani Land Eviction

The Uttarakhand High Court’s order to evict more than 4,000 residents from intruded land in Haldwani that the Indian Railways claimed was stayed by the Supreme Court on Thursday.

According to the Supreme Court’s ruling, the government must fully rehabilitate the local populations. The directions made in the contested order shall be halted in the meantime. Prohibiting any new development or construction on the property, the Apex Court ruled.

It is a “human issue,” according to a bench of Justices S K Kaul and A S Oka, and a practical solution must be found.They said,”50,000 people can not be uprooted in seven days.”
